Hosting a Meeting on Monte-Carlo Random Numbers

Today, our fusion group had the pleasure of hosting a meeting on Monte-Carlo Random Numbers with a multidisciplinary group of experts from the Institute of Photonic Sciences ICFO, Spain; National Institute for Fusion Science NIFS, Japan; CIEMAT Fusion National Laboratory and Barcelona Supercomputing Center.

A random number is a number generated by a process, whose outcome is unpredictable, and which cannot be subsequentially reliably reproduced. New methods for their generation have been developed at ICFO based on quantum technology, as reported Optical Society of America and in El País today.
