From 2nd to 4th of November, the BSC Fusion group member Felipe Nathan attended the “HPC methods for Computational Fluid Dynamics and Astrophysics” held at CINECA, the facility which hosts the supercomputer Marconi-Fusion, the new European High Performance Computer for fusion applications.
The meeting counted with various professionals from the Application of Computer Science’s Department of CINECA, and different professors of both Astrophysics and Fluid Dynamics fields, from various universities. The aim of the workshop was to give an overview on the state-of the art of the different HPC architecture and the related numerical methods applied to problems of Numerical Astrophysics, CFD, and Plasma Dynamics. Nathan stated:
“It was a very interesting meeting and I believe that I learnt a lot about different numerical methods that will definitely help me in better understand the codes I have been already using in my research.”
