The Fusion Group at Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is looking for an internship student with a degree in physics or computer science. The position supports the development and applications of plasma simulation codes in the group and involves different state-of-the-art technologies.

Our research results at the 44th European Physical Society Conference on Plasma Physics
The 44th European Physical Society Conference on Plasma Physics took place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from the 26th to the 30th of June, 2017. It is the largest annual conference in the field organized in Europe, with more than 600 delegates each year.
This year our group members Mervi Mantsinen, Shimpei Futatani and Nathan Oliveira de Lopes participated in the conference.

Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is looking for postdoctoral researcher with PhD in neutron transport simulations to work in our Fusion group.
The successful candidate will become an active member of our group’s research projects. The group is multidisciplinary and works in close collaboration with the EUROfusion programme and ITER.

This week, from 6th to 8th of June, our group leader Mervi Mantsinen has participated in the Workshop on Ion Cyclotron Resonance Frequency Heating (ICRH) scenarios for ITER organized at ITER Headquarters, France.
BSC Fusion Results at the RF Topical Conference
This week our group members Dani Gallart and Mervi Mantsinen presented their research results at the 22nd Topical Conference on Radiofrequency Power in Plasmas.
The conference was held in the sunny town of Aix-en-Provence in south of France and was organized by the IRFM (Institut de Recherche sur la Fusion par confinement Magnétique) of the CEA Physical Science Division.
Research stay with modelling and fusion experiments at ASDEX Upgrade
This week our group leader Mervi Mantsinen has worked at the Max-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) at Garching, Germany where she has participated in the experimental campaign on the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak as part of the 2017 EUROfusion Medium Size Tokamak (MST1) campaigns.
