Our group members Mervi Mantsinen and Dani Gallart have participated in the paper “Efficient generation of energetic ions in multi-ion plasmas by radio-frequency heating”, currently available as Advance Online Publication on the Nature Physics website.
Last week our group member Marc Eixarch and his supervisor Stephan Mohr from the Material Science Group at the Computer Applications in Science and Engineering Department of BSC participated at the Fusion Material Modelling meeting in Zagreb, organized by EUROfusion under the Work Package WPMAT-IREMEV and held by the Croatian Fusion Research Unit. This meeting had the objective of sharing the new results on radiation damage in fusion materials.
Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is looking for postdoctoral researcher with PhD in neutron transport simulations to work in our Fusion group.
The successful candidate will become an active member of our group’s research projects. The group is multidisciplinary and works in close collaboration with the EUROfusion programme and ITER.
This week, from 6th to 8th of June, our group leader Mervi Mantsinen has participated in the Workshop on Ion Cyclotron Resonance Frequency Heating (ICRH) scenarios for ITER organized at ITER Headquarters, France.
This week our group members Dani Gallart and Mervi Mantsinen presented their research results at the 22nd Topical Conference on Radiofrequency Power in Plasmas.
The conference was held in the sunny town of Aix-en-Provence in south of France and was organized by the IRFM (Institut de Recherche sur la Fusion par confinement Magnétique) of the CEA Physical Science Division.
This spring our fusion group has contributed with three lectures to the Fusion Technology Course of the Nuclear Engineering Master organized by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain. This course is designed to offer the students an comprehensive overview on key topics in Fusion Technology, delivered by specialist lecturers from F4E, CIEMAT, CEA, IPP, UPC and BSC/Fusion group.
