group under the supervision of ICREA Prof. Mervi Mantsinen, exposed and <strong>defended their PhD research plans<\/strong> at the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->The examination panel was composed\u00a0of two\u00a0fusion experts from Fusion for Energy (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.f4e.europa.eu\/\">F4E<\/a>) and one professor from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upc.edu\/\">UPC<\/a>.\u00a0After 30 minutes of exposition and a round of questions for each of the PhD students they both received <strong>green light to continue with their studies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Allah Rakha<\/strong> works\u00a0on fast ions physics and Alfven eigenmodes while <strong>Dani Gallart<\/strong> devotes his studies to plasma heating with ion cyclotron resonance frequency (ICRF) waves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today, Allah Rakha and Dani Gallart, two PhD students
