This prestigious event brought together <em>researchers, graduate students, and instructors<\/em> from around the world to explore the latest advances in <strong>massively parallel computing<\/strong> and <strong>artificial intelligence (AI)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>M. Augusto Maidana Silanes<\/strong>, member of the <em>Fusion Group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC)<\/em>, had the opportunity to attend this year\u2019s edition. Participants engaged in lectures and practical sessions covering topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Large language models<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Matrix multiplication optimization<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Wavefront algorithms<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sparse and dynamic data handling<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamic parallelism and multi-GPU execution<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Debugging and profiling CUDA code<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With lectures from world-leading experts such as <strong>Wen-mei Hwu (NVIDIA\/University of Illinois)<\/strong>, <strong>Juan G\u00f3mez-Luna (NVIDIA)<\/strong>, and <strong>Izzat el Hajj (American University of Beirut)<\/strong>, along with <strong>BSC and UPC specialists<\/strong> including <em>Antonio J. In particular, the combination of <strong data-start=\"2166\" data-end=\"2196\">GPU architecture expertise<\/strong> and the expanding role of <strong data-start=\"2223\" data-end=\"2229\">AI<\/strong> is essential to tackle the <em data-start=\"2257\" data-end=\"2318\">complex computational challenges in nuclear fusion research<\/em>, one of the most demanding frontiers in science and engineering.
