Kraaijenhagen.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From June 30<sup>th<\/sup> to July 4<sup>th<\/sup>, <strong>Hern\u00e1n Domingo<\/strong> attended the <a href=\"https:\/\/iis2025.sciencesconf.org\/?lang=en\">14<sup>th<\/sup> International ITER School<\/a> on Integrated Modelling in Magnetic Fusion Plasmas, held in Aix-en-Provence, France. The event, organized primarily by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.univ-amu.fr\/en\">Aix-Marseille University<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cadarache.cea.fr\/cad\">CEA<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iter.org\/\">ITER Organization<\/a> , brought together over 200 participants from diverse backgrounds, all sharing a common eagerness to learn more about nuclear fusion and integrated modelling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our PhD student, <strong>Hern\u00e1n<\/strong>, had the opportunity to present a poster on <strong data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"689\">Alya4fusion<\/strong>, our latest project focused on nuclear fusion reactor simulation and integrated modelling.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; margin-bottom: 0;\">The school offered a five-day program filled with <strong>lectures on cutting-edge science<\/strong>\u2014not only plasma physics but also material science, control theory, mechanical engineering, and more\u2014delivered by top-tier professors and researchers. It also included activities such as an impressive <strong>visit to ITER\u2019s facilities<\/strong>,<strong> poster sessions<\/strong>, and various <strong>social events<\/strong>. Alya4fusion is an integrated modelling framework composed of a set of modules running within <a href=\"https:\/\/bsc.es\/research-and-development\/software-and-apps\/software-list\/alya\">Alya<\/a>, a finite-element-based code designed for high-performance computing environments. Alya allows to simulate multiphysics and engineering coupled problems. By developing modules that address fusion-relevant physical problems, the team is building a powerful numerical tool to support and optimize the design of nuclear fusion reactors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hern\u00e1n&#8217;s participation in the ITER International School was made possible by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsc.es\/es\/unete\/oportunidades-de-excelencia-profesional\/ai4s\"><strong>AI4S<\/strong> fellowship<\/a>, which supports his PhD program and related mobility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From June 30th to July 4th, Hern\u00e1n Domingo attended the 14th International ITER School on Integrated Modelling in Magnetic Fusion Plasmas, held in Aix-en-Provence, France.
