Picture from BSC Fusion Group archive.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On 11-15 March our group leader, ICREA Research Prof. <strong>Mervi Mantsinen<\/strong> visited the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euro-fusion.org\/devices\/jet\/\"><em><span style=\"font-style: normal;\">JET tokamak<\/span><\/em><\/a><\/strong><i> <\/i>at Culham, United Kingdom, to take part in the <strong>Analysis and Modelling Meeting<\/strong> of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/euro-fusion.org\/\">EUROfusion<\/a><\/strong> Work Package Tokamak Exploitation (WPTE). In total, approximately 85 fusion scientists from all around Europe participated in this meeting in person.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mervi\u2019s main focus for the visit was on the analysis and modelling of experiments with second harmonic ion cyclotron resonance frequency <strong>(ICRF) heating of tritium in JET third major campaign with deuterium-tritium plasmas (DTE3)<\/strong> in preparation of her talk on this subject at the forthcoming <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/epsplasma2024.com\">European Physical Society Conference (EPS) on Plasma Physics<\/a><\/strong> later this year in Salamanca. This work is a continuation of her research carried out in the JET second major D-T campaign which was recently <a href=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/article\/10.1088\/1741-4326\/aceb08\/meta\">published in Nuclear Fusion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-91928\" src=\"http:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/MervisNFpaper-1-400x205.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"358\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/MervisNFpaper-1-400x205.jpg 400w, https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/MervisNFpaper-1.jpg 883w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mervi stated <em>\u201cmy visit to JET was very useful given the numerous presentations on the status and future priorities of the analysis and modelling of the JET DTE3 experiments and the many one-to-one discussions with other researchers\u201d<\/em>.
