It is used to simulate the plasma instabilities that can occur during Fusion experiments, adopting the geometry of existing devices such as Tokamaks or Stellarators. The JOREK code capabilities are developed within the <a href=\"https:\/\/euro-fusion.org\/eurofusion-news\/advanced-computing-grants-for-fusion\/\">projects &#8220;TSVV8 <i>Integrated Modelling of MHD Transients&#8221;<\/i> and &#8220;TSVV9 <i>Dynamics of Runaway Electrons in Tokamak Disruptions&#8221;<\/i> of EUROfusion<\/a>, and its repository is hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iter.org\">ITER<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_91815\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-91815\" style=\"width: 291px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-91815 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-from-2024-02-14-10-11-25.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"301\" height=\"76\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-91815\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The JOREK code logo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, <strong>our Fusion Group at BSC is involved in the development of the JOREK code through the work of Dr. <\/strong><strong>Federico Cipolletta<\/strong>, as part of the BSC-CIEMAT Advanced Computing Hub (<a href=\"https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/index.php\/2023\/11\/22\/we-are-looking-for-engineers-interested-in-high-performance-computing-sciences\/#more-91667\">ACH<\/a>). In particular, the center is hosting several research groups focusing on various aspects of matter in the plasma state, spanning from applications to Chemistry and Biology, passing through Industry, and reaching up to Nuclear Fusion. This active and dynamic research institution is inserted within the idyllic background of the natural environment around L\u00e9man Lake.
