With its <strong>33 participants<\/strong> from various research units around Europe, the Code Camp has given the EUROfusion Work Package on Code Development <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wpcd-workflows.github.io\/introduction.html\">(WPCD)<\/a> <\/strong>an excellent setting to continue its collaborative efforts to push forward integrated modelling in fusion. Moreover, it served as a forum to discuss the coming EU Framework Programme FP9 which will bring significant changes and restructuring to EUROfusion with a new E-TASC programme including Advanced Computing Hubs (ACHs).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the highlights of the Code Camp was a visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsc.es\/marenostrum\"><strong>MareNostrum 4<\/strong><\/a> supercomputer located at BSC where the participants were introduced to its computer architecture, network and characteristics. Moreover, visitors learned about CTE clusters to explore new technologies for <strong>MareNostrum 5<\/strong>. We have taken care of\u00a0 the local organization as well as participated in the development of WPCD tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ignacio L\u00f3pez de Arbina<\/strong> and <strong>Mervi Mantsinen<\/strong> have been working on the implementation of the GGD distributions to store PION distribution functions and further internal parameters.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Albert Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong> has developed performance analysis of virtualization technologies for plasma codes, working and discussing with members of the Core Programming Team.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Xavier S\u00e1ez<\/strong> has played a key role in the preparation and organization of the event.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We hope that all the participants have had a productive time and have enjoyed their time in Barcelona.
