David comes the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccfe.ac.uk\/\">Culham Centre for Fusion Energy<\/a> (CCFE), the UK&#8217;s national laboratory for fusion research based at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire. It is owned and operated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/uk-atomic-energy-authority\">United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority<\/a> (UKAEA).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>David Taylor<\/strong> is a physics modeller with experience in plasma physics and nuclear fusion. His main work is based in creating, maintaining and running analysis codes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euro-fusion.org\/devices\/jet\/\"><strong>JET<\/strong><\/a> experiment. In particular, he f<span class=\"background-details\"><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">ocuses on equilibrium codes (EFIT, FIESTA), neutron<\/span> <span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">modelling codes (MCNP, Serpent), and aspects of the JET post-shot analysis suites such as the second data processing chain, CHAIN 2<\/span><span class=\"lt-line-clamp__line\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His visit is intended to facilitate an update of the CHAIN 2 part of the PION code, a task that<strong> David Taylor<\/strong> and our group leader <strong>Dr. Mervi Mantsinen<\/strong> are carrying out.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3714\" src=\"http:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/group_meal_3-400x199.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"749\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/group_meal_3-400x199.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/group_meal_3-1024x509.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/group_meal_3.jpeg 1188w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week our group welcomed David Taylor for a two week visit to BSC.
