The event is free to charge and is divided into two parts. <!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3863\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3863\" style=\"width: 739px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3863\" src=\"http:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/marshmallows-e1559206204962.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"749\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/marshmallows-e1559206204962.jpg 648w, https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/marshmallows-e1559206204962-400x241.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3863\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ITER &#8220;plasmagic&#8221; show at ITER Open Doors Day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The first part takes place at the Visitors Center<\/strong>, and consists of Interactive displays, a mock-up of the ITER machine, <span class=\"bdy\">ITER &#8220;plasmagic&#8221; show demonstrating the key concepts such as the magnetic field, vacuum, plasma, and microwave heating<\/span>, and videos on various aspects of the project. ITER ambassadors are available to answer questions throughout the day.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3864\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3864\" style=\"width: 740px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3864\" src=\"http:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/explanations-e1559206245605.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/explanations-e1559206245605.jpg 1215w, https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/explanations-e1559206245605-400x250.jpg 400w, https:\/\/fusion.bsc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/explanations-e1559206245605-1024x640.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3864\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">ITER project presentation at the ITER Visitors Center.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The second part is a guided bus tour of the construction site<\/strong> which this time included the Cryostat workshop, the enormous Assembly hall and the heart of the construction site, the Tokamak Complex where, after walking through the Diagnostics Building, visitors were able to look down into the central <em>\u201cbioshield\u201d<\/em>\u2014 a massive circular structure in reinforced concrete that encloses the area that will be occupied by the ITER machine. Tours in English and French are provided. The visitor will have to bring the identity card or passport on the day of the visit together with the E-ticket received through the online signing-up process. It is obligatory to wear clothes appropriated for a worksite visit, such as flat and closed shoes and avoiding skirts, shorts or dresses. The ITER Open Day is available for children aged 6 and more.
