The objective of Dr. Soba&#8217;s stay is to develop a neutron transport deterministic module for the in-house code ALYA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more-->The stay is partially financed by EUROlab4HPC and the Severo Ochoa mobility\u2019s program. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurolab4hpc.eu\/\">Eurolab4HPC<\/a> is a Coordination Action funded by the European Commission under H2020 with the bold commitment to build the foundation for a European Research Center of Excellence in High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsc.es\/join-us\/why-to-work-at-bsc\/mobility-programmes\/so-mobility-grants\">Severo Ochoa mobility\u2019s program<\/a> aims at enhancing partnerships between BSC and other institutions through grants for ongoing and incoming researchers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Alejandro&#8217;s visit will boost the neutron transport research field in our research group thanks to the knowledge acquired during the collaboration and the module developed in ALYA<\/strong>. This new module will place ALYA in an advantageous competitive position since there are many codes in the world that solve the neutron transport equation, but none of them are currently integrated into a computational framework for multiphysics coupling problems. Therefore, <strong>this initiative will open the door for ALYA to participate in the design of fusion reactors where simulations require a high computing power<\/strong>.
