Future energy requirements set an unprecedented challenge for our society, and fusion energy is uniquely placed to meet the growing energy demand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Different topics were addressed in his talk:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Basic concepts about plasma and fusion physics,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Status of ITER project,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Description of fusion research done in the BSC fusion group and internationally,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Examples of fusion codes used in the research, and<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Highlights from research performed in the BSC fusion group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">More info: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsc.es\/education\/training\/patc-courses\/patc-course-hpc-based-simulations-engineering-and-environment-2\">PATC course <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday February 16 our group member Dr. Xavier S\u00e1ez gave a talk within the PATC course &#8220;HPC-based simulations, Engineering and Environment&#8221; at Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
